On Dec 22, 2017, president Trump signed into law the H.R.1, also known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The new tax reform is one of the most impactful tax changes to U.S. employers in decades, and has changed how U.S. withholding taxes are calculated.
In this session, expert speaker Dayna Reum will discuss everything you need to know about the tax reform that affects payroll. You will understand what is changing and how to implement the changes at your organizations. You will learn how to handle employee questions about withholding changes or no change and how to update your payroll system and when. Dayna will discuss changes to federal tax withholding, and will discuss basic federal withholding, supplemental taxation, back-up withholding, non-resident aliens and the Form W-4.
You will also learn about federal tax levies, fringe benefits such as transportation, moving expenses, employee achievement awards, legal settlements and wage advances and repayments.
